No. The methods used are content free, which means that neither beneficiaries nor the therapist have to relive the experience.
Most of the time we will arrange a weekly one-hour session. Wherever possible we ask that this takes place at one of our three offices. However, if for medical or geographical reasons this is not possible, we will either arrange to visit you, or work through a secured internet network.
A study by Dr Bolstad in the USA carried out an experiment with PTSD sufferers using CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) and NLP. CBT worked with 34% of the group and took between 9 and 12 months. NLP worked with 82% of the group and took between 7 and 9 hours.
We are often asked by family members to provide one-off consultations to help them understand the effects of PTSD and how to support their loved ones.
We have also found that those who care for sufferers of PTSD may have secondary trauma and we can help you with this.
You may also have taken on the role of carer and may need support to move on from this role when it’s no longer needed.
